Get mucky! Volunteer with us
Volunteers make Fordhall the welcoming community-owned farm that it is!
Our volunteers come from all walks of life, with different ages, different skills, and different reasons for joining us.
There is something for everyone – whether you are looking to boost your CV, meet new people or learn new skills.
Volunteering takes many forms here on the farm, from helping out in the office, to maintenance, to conservation work, helping run our events, Silvopasture tree planting and more!
Volunteer Fridays
Friday is our regular volunteering day on the farm. Get stuck into some practical tasks on the farm with like-minded individuals.
Volunteer Fridays run weekly, from 10am-4pm.
Places must be pre-booked, please us the contact details below.
Volunteer Weekends
Our quarterly volunteer weekends focus mainly on outdoor work – past jobs have included building a boardwalk, planting wildflowers, creating an otter holt, hedge laying and tree planting.
If you are coming from further afield, you are welcome to stay in our beautiful Straw Lodge – which was hand built by volunteers! Places must be pre-booked.
Please use the contact details below to book your place.
Want to volunteer at Fordhall Farm?
We have a full programme of volunteering dates and weekends scheduled for 2024.
All volunteers, regardless of what they are doing, will be required to fill out a volunteer detail form; this will include contact details, volunteering interests, support needs and health issues. This will ensure that the volunteer is suitable for the volunteer opportunity about to be undertaken, and meets the needs and interests of the volunteer, as well as the Fordhall Community Land Initiative.
