Renew and Restore in Nature

Supporting people living with and beyond cancer

Join us for restorative, fun and uplifting sessions all rooted in nature, on our beautiful community-owned organic farm.

Our Renew and Restore programme is open to all with a cancer diagnosis living in the Shropshire, Mid Wales and Telford & Wrekin area. It includes a wide range of activities for you to build your own bespoke programme. All Activity content is based on feedback from participants and you can attend as many sessions as you like.

You could experience cooking outdoors, butchery classes, join a foraging or amble walk, create art inspired by nature, write a song, or participate in some calming Yoga or a Sound bath.

We guarantee a welcoming friendly space, where you can dip in and out of what suits you on the day and you will always be greeted with a nice cuppa too.

The Fordhall Community Land Initiative is really excited to be working with two funders to deliver this diverse programme of free support for people living with cancer.

We have received wonderful Grant support from Lingen Davies Cancer Support and also Great Bolas Cancer Committee to allow us to bring this programme to you.

Straw lodge exterior

The base for our sessions will be our stunning ecologically-built Straw Lodge, which instantly connects you to nature with sweeping views across the Tern Valley.

The building is fully accessible for all with ramp access, wide door ways and a fully accessible bathroom.

We can also offer an all terrain Tramper available for any across the field sessions (needs to be booked in advance)

The straw lodge is an instantly calming space with beds available if anyone needs a rest during a session.

When do the sessions take place?

The sessions are Fortnightly on Fridays. The times can vary depending on the session, so please check the details. We are also able to offer for many of the sessions the choice of a Morning or an Afternoon time. We are also offering the opportunity to partake in a Community Lunch on certain dates. This is a great way to extend your session, get to know other attendees more, and have lunch made for you! ( the lunches are payable by the attendee but the sessions remain free)

Things to do during your stay

Explore

You will be left to your own devices during your stay, and are free to explore our picturesque organic farm. We have farm trails weaving around the farm, which will take you around our pastures, woodland and along the river. Why not say hello to some of our friendly animals as you explore?

Our organic Farm Shop is a short walk away, where you can purchase delicious local produce to prepare in the yurts. We can also provide you with a hamper of your favourite goodies to make your stay stress- and decision-free – just let us know when you book.

Our yurts are designed to help you reconnect with nature, your loved ones and yourself. They are well and truly off-grid. For this reason we have no Wi-Fi facilities at the yurts. There are electricity sockets available for use at the farm in the main building, but with the Shropshire Hills as your playground, this is the perfect place to switch off!

The nature of our yurts and surroundings lends itself perfectly to families that home educate; there are so many new experiences you can enjoy with your children whilst they learn about the natural world first hand.
